About Sidney

My name is Sidney Wong.  I am a long time golf student learning the game of golf for the last 30 years.  I did not learn the game as a child, but as an adult.  I have spent over $20,000 attending golf schools, taking lessons, buying golf video tapes, books, and DVDs.  All of my work has paid off where I can break 90 consistently.  The National Golf Foundation states that if you can break 90, you are in the top 75% of all golfers.  I am still on my journey to improve.  My goal is to break 80 consistently.  Only 5% of golfers can break 80.   I am enjoying the journey.

I wanted to share what I have learned with other golfers seeking to improve their game.   I wrote and self-published my High Percentage Golf book to document and show what I feel is required to become a consistent golfer.  In writing my book, I wanted to feel what a beginner experiences in learning the golf swing so I learned to swing left handed.  This gave me valuable insight on what must be done both physically and mentally in order to develop a consistent swing.

I spent 30 years at IBM in software development and in helping customers design hardware and software systems.  I also spent five years at Veritas Software doing software training.  I wanted to use my experience in training and building systems to the golf world.  That is why I created my High Percentage Golf Learning System.   Using my book as a starting point, my system is designed to help you quickly improve your golf swing and enhance your focus on the golf course.  The system will enhance your physical and mental skills.

I feel the discipline of golf instruction needs a system of instruction.   Most golf instruction consists of teaching positions and fixing something.  A learning system begins with a foundation and builds up each level step by step.  High Percentage Golf Learning System integrates the mental game with the physical game.  The intent of this system is to quickly provide a foundation of golf skills to improve the golf swing and enhance focus on the course.  The natural next step from this foundation is to take playing lessons on the course.  That is where the real learning occurs.
